At the opening of the conference in Belgrade City Hall, Miscevic said that Serbia is part of Europe and shares European values, which is very important for communication with the public.
The conference will deal with several main issues, such as communication, arts, culture, the media and education, specified Miscevic and voiced hope that European identity will also be discussed at the conference, as well as the question as to whether EU accession means giving up national identity.
We will not be poorer if we lose some parts of our national identity because we will enrich ourselves with new elements of national identity of other EU members, claimed Miscevic and added that this is a very important element when it comes to EU accession process.
Rector of the Belgrade University of Arts Cedomir Vasic said that the conference will be an opportunity for all participants, as well as the print media, to get acquainted with, analyse and asses the efforts invested in the education, arts and the media sectors in Serbia and other European countries.
Deputy Head for Enlargement at the European Commission Jan Truscinski said that EU member states agreed that availability of free information to citizens is of great significance and that they should be made public duly and fully.
If receivers understand the message you are sending them, then they will be readier to accept it, as well as to support the EU integration process, explained Truscinski.
During the three-day conference, domestic and foreign experts will present 20 scientific papers and research.
