The Serbian parliament delegation took part in the 53rd annual session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, being held on October 5-9 in Reykjavik, Iceland.
In a statement to the Fonet news agency, member of the Serbian parliament’s standing delegation Dragan Sormaz said that for the first time the delegation took part in the session in the capacity of a joined member of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
The proposed resolution which refers to the situation in southeast Europe will be forwarded to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly for adoption, said Sormaz and voiced pleasure that amendments proposed by the Serbian delegation and Italian MPS were adopted.
According to Sormaz, the original text of the resolution stating that Serbs are a national minority in Kosovo-Metohija and that the talks between Belgrade and Pristina are technical has been erased.
Sormaz said that they jointly concluded that the solution to the Kosovo issue should be sought thorough the UN Security Council and voiced hope that such a resolution will be adopted at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
