International conference on Kosovo-Metohija – chance to find compromise solution

Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic stated yesterday that the international conference on Kosovo-Metohija could be very useful since it would be an opportunity for Pristina and Belgrade to reach a compromise solution together.

In a statement for B92 television, occasioned by the statement of EU representative in the troika of envoys Wolfgang Ischinger, who said there is a possibility to hold a concluding negotiating conference, Jeremic said that the Serbian team will be ready for talks in any form.
He explained that the Belgrade team is ready for talks providing that they remain under the UN legitimacy and that the UN Security Council confirms the solution.
I believe that the very fact that we are sitting at the same table with the Pristina delegation is very useful, that is, that only through these direct talks can we hope to find any compromise solution, said Minister Jeremic.
He also noted that it is good to negotiate with the mediation of troika of envoys and stressed the necessity of UN legitimacy throughout the entire process.
