Speaking in parliament on the bills that should confirm the conventions, Dragin stressed that environmental protection is an issue beyond borders, and called upon members of parliament to vote for the conventions so that a healthy environment may be secured for future generations.
Parliament members will examine government bills on affirming the UN Convention to Combat Desertification in countries with extremely dry climate and/or desertification, particularly in Africa, and the UN Convention on Evaluation of the impact on the Environment in cross-border context.
The agenda also includes approval of the Framework Convention on the Protection and. Sustainable Development of the Carpathians, the Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats, and the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals.
