President, Vice President and members of the Council of the State Audit Institution took oath today in Serbian parliament, thus assuming office.
Parliament elected members of this highest state audit body through majority voting at its last session.
Radoslav Sretenovic was elected president, Ljubica Nedeljkovic is vice president, and members are Zoran Tamas, Ljiljana Dmitrovic-Saponja and Natalija Catovic.
The election of the council and taking of oath has created conditions for this independent body to begin work.
All public finances, including direct and indirect users of budgetary funds, political parties and public companies are under its jurisdiction.
The institution is established according to the new Serbian Constitution, and the law regarding this body was adopted in November 2005.
