Committee for finances proposes Radovan Jelasic for governor

Serbian parliament’s committee for finances decided today with a majority vote to propose to MPs re-appointment of present National Bank of Serbia (NBS) Governor Radovan Jelasic for the upcoming five-year term.

Jelasic was Vice Governor of the National Bank of Yugoslavia, which in December 2002 became NBS. He was appointed NBS Governor on February 25, 2004 and took on duty on March 1, 2004.
The committee also agreed to discuss non-party members of the NBS Council after the adoption of a new law on the NBS.
