Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic said last night that he will request from the Chinese top officials to support Serbia's position that only a compromising solution can bring a lasting peace and stability in the western Balkans and underlined that such a solution has been confirmed in the UN Security Council.
Jeremic, who is on a
two-day official visit to China, said that his visit to Beijing started with the visit to the International department of the Communist Party of China. There he will meet with Chinese Vice-President Zeng Qinghong and Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi.
The main topic of our talks will be the current situation in the process of negotiations on the future status of Kosovo, Jeremic explained and added that China is one of the permanent members of the UN Security Council, with the right to veto.
He said that China will have an important role in any debate in the UN Security Council.
