Applications for start-up loans until September 15

Serbian Minister of Economy and Regional Development Mladjan Dinkic presented today in Nis loans intended for young entrepreneurs and legal entities - beginners in crafts, production and services in Serbia.

Speaking at a panel discussion about start-up loans in the grand hall of the Nis City Assembly, Dinkic said that beginners are those who have never had a private business, regardless of age.

Those are the people who have never paid income tax from their own business and those who have been registered as entrepreneurs or legal entities since January 1, 2007.

He said that this programme of the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development is being implemented through the Development Fund and the Agency for Development of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises.

Dinkic said that all those interested in this programme should submit applications to the agency through regional offices until September 15 this year.

During today's visit to Nis, on which are State Secretary for Regional Development Verica Kalanovic and Director of the Agency for Development of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Dejan Jovanovic, Dinkic visited construction works on the reconstruction of the water network in the village of Gabrovac near the city, for which RSD 37,500,000 have been set aside from the National Investment Plan this year.

Dinkic and Kalanovic then met with presidents of 25 underdeveloped municipalities in southern Serbia, from the districts of Jablanica, Pcinj, Nisava and Pirot.

The aim of the meeting was to establish closer cooperation with representatives of local self-government and look at the existing capacities of the municipalities for preparing plans for development of local communal infrastructure and industrial zones.

The Minister and the state secretaries invited the representatives of the municipalities to use more funds from the development programme, especially credit lines for employment and development of small and medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurship in underdeveloped municipalities, the statement adds.
