In a joint press conference, Jeremic said that bilateral relations between Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina are good which is proven by the resumption of work of the interstate council for cooperation of Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Alkalaj said that there it was unnecessary to stop the work of this council, noting that the resumption of its work is an important step in consolidation of the Balkans.
He also stated that Sarajevo will back a solution for Kosovo-Metohija that will come about through agreement between Belgrade authorities and Kosovo Albanians.
Alkalaj rejected any possibility of connecting the Kosovo issue with the status of Republika Srpska within Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Jeremic said that Serbia is at a delicate phase of negotiations on the future status of Kosovo-Metohija and needs support of international institutions that may influence that process.
Ahtisaari’s plan was rejected for the reason it did not gain the support of all. The solution to the Kosovo-Metohija issue needs the support of all, and getting that support is currently the most important diplomatic and foreign political task of Serbia, Jeremic added.
