Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic met today with US senator James Inhofe and discussed economic cooperation and cultural ties between Serbia and the USA.

Jeremic said he told the senator how important Kosovo-Metohija is for Serbia and how crucial it is to reach a compromise solution for the province which will enable peace and stability in this region.
According to Jeremic, Kosovo-Metohija is of immense significance for Serbia because of Serbia’s Christian heritage and history.
Inhofe, who is member of the US Senate Committee on Armed Services, announced that the USA will considerably extend the programme of military cooperation with Serbia, primarily when it comes to training Serbian officers in the US.
The senator said that Serbian representatives voiced willingness to be trained, which they were enabled to do within the International Military Education and Training Programme (IMET).
