Jat Airways planes assist fire-fighting in Greece

Assistant Minister of Defence Dusan Spasojevic said that the situation of raging fires in Greece is very tragic and announced that seven Jat Airways planes will land on Athens airport today around 2 pm.
Spasojevic told Beta news agency that fires in Greece are still raging and noted that Serbian air forces will participate in extinguishing fires for a couple of days.
According to him, the latest information from the Greek Ministry of Defence say that over 50% of the Greek territory is seized with fire and almost all villages in Peloponnesus peninsula.
He also confirmed that the Greek Ministry of Defence sent an appeal to the Serbian government over 48 hours ago to send fire-fighting assistance. So far, French and Italian fire-fighting planes have been active in extinguishing the Greek wildfire.
