Serbian parliament stated today that the 100th year since the day construction on the House of Parliament began will be observed on August 27. An artistic performance and exhibition will be held in front of the House of Parliament in Nikola Pasic Square.
According to the statement the programme will begin at 4.30 pm with a performance by the children’s choir of the Radio Television of Serbia (RTS), and two hours later actors Liljana Blagojevic and Petar Kralj, mixed choir of the RTS, the army and the Defence Ministry, as well as the Serbian Folklore Ensemble Kolo will present a drama.
Children of Belgrade will have the opportunity to draw the House of Parliament, and their works will be exhibited to the public as well as displayed on
the official parliament website.
At the end of the event an exhibition of the archive documents related to the construction of the city will be held which will include architecture blueprints, contracts on equipping the interior, art objects from the House of Parliament and old post cards with the motif of the House of Parliament.
The exhibition will be open to public every day until August 31 from 2 pm to 5 pm.
