The ministry says in a statement that at the opening of a seminar themed “Functioning of Sports System in Norway”, Samardzic-Markovic said that the aim of the seminar is to demonstrate to the ministry officials, representatives of sports organizations and the media how a developed country, such as Norway, treats sports and solves problems it faces in this field.
She said that Norway’s experience and models regarding cooperation between sports organisations and government institutions, as well as ways for financing sports, will be of enormous use to Serbia when it begins drafting a national sports strategy.
Such seminars, which we will keep organizing, will help us find out what good practice is in order to jointly come up with the best sports development strategy for our country, explained Samardzic-Markovic.
The seminar was organized by the Serbian Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Norwegian Football Association. Secretary General of the Norwegian Football Association Karen Espelund and the project manager Hans Finstad addressed the gathering.
Apart from representatives of the ministry and the media, also present at the seminar were Secretary General of the Serbian Olympic Committee Predrag Manojlovic, President and Secretary General of the Sports Association of Serbia, Vojislav Tabacki and Dane Korica respectively, Secretary General of the Football Association of Serbia Zoran Lakovic, Director of the Serbian Sports Directorate Nenad Popovic and other officials in the sports sector.
