Samardzic-Markovic pledged ministry support on that occasion to enable basketball players, who are the future of Serbia, to achieve good results.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports has provided financial support to team members, she said and promised that all other forms of assistance will be given so that Serbia is represented well at the championship.
Senic explained that the aim of this visit was to show support to the Serbian basketball team, and to send a message that the Ministry will work to strengthen sports in the country in ways which are not directly related to results achieved.
He said that considering the success achieved by young players this summer, Serbian basketball does not need to worry about its future.
The European championship will be held from September 3 to 16, and Serbian basketball players will travel to Spain on August 31.
