Head of the section for environmental protection from pollution at the Serbian Ministry of Environmental Protection Slavica Lekic said today that the ministry has compiled a preliminary list of 243 companies, which are potential pollutants, and will have to obtain integrated licenses for work.
In a statement to the news agency Tanjug, Lekic explained that acquiring integrated work licenses from the Ministry of Environmental Protection implies attestation that the company is conducting its activities without polluting water, air or earth.
She pointed to the fact that new companies must have licenses at the beginning, while existing companies have been given a deadline until 2015, adding that some industries, depending upon the activity, will be given a shorter deadline for obtaining the license.
According to Lekic, the list of potential pollutants is on the website of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and is available to interested members of the public, expert organisations and companies.
