Guca defines the spirit, struggles, ambitions, aspirations and the true character of the Serbian people in this moment. Guca brings people together, and that can be seen in the visitors which have gathered here, most of them young, said Kostunica.
The Serbian Prime Minister attended the closing ceremony which was opened by Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik together with Serbian Minister of Infrastructure and host of the festival Velimir Ilic.
Dodik stressed that the people of Republika Srpska love Serbia and live for its good and strength, and added that the festival in Guca best shows what Serbia is.
He said that the festival in Guca is at the heart of the musical map of the world.
Guca is joy, power and aspiration. Guca shows that Serbs are a good, peaceful and hospitable people, and Serbia is a country of good people and hosts, said Dodik.
Host of the festival, Serbian Minister of Infrastructure Velimir Ilic said that today Guca is a Serbian and international brand and shows that Serbia wishes to rejoice.
The Demiran Cerimovic Orchestra from Vranje won the 47th Dragacevo Brass Band Festival which concluded last night in Guca. Ekrem Mamutovic of the Nenad Maldenovic Orchestra from Vranje was declared best trumpet player, and Dejan Lazarevic from Pozega was named best trumpet player by the public jury.
This largest event of authentic folk music in Serbia was held under the auspices of the Serbian government and lasted five days.
Following the announcement of winners and the large festival Kolo dance, which traditionally ends the festival, a concert was held on the banks of River Belica by many times winner of Guca, Boban Markovic.
It is estimated that this year nearly half a million local and foreign visitors attended the Dragacevo Brass Band Festival in Guca.
