At the conclusion of his two-day visit to Slovenia, Milosavljevic said in a statement for the news agency Tanjug that in talks with Slovenian Minister of Agriculture Iztok Jarc it was stressed that Slovenia is willing to help Serbia on its path to Europe, especially in the areas of agriculture and food industry.
He added that on the occasion agreement was reached that in the spring of 2008 a ministerial conference be held on the subject of food safety in Belgrade.
According to Milosavljevic, the conference will provide an opportunity to promote Serbian products, Serbian brands and Serbia as a country which produces healthy, organic food.
It was also decided that there will be cooperation in the area of veterinary services, plant protection and sectors of the ministries which deal with European development, said Milosavljevic.
Milosavljevic recalled that Slovenia is a very important trade partner and is among the top ten countries with which Serbia does trade.
Slovenian investment in Serbia from 2000 until now has reached nearly €700 million, which shows the necessity for more intensive contacts and talks between the two countries so that new opportunities open up for Serbia, concluded the Minister of Agriculture.
