During her stay in Uzice, Cubrilo stressed that the Serbian Diaspora consists of nearly 4,000,000 people throughout the world who are attached to their motherland, which is proved by their participation in several humanitarian activities.
She pointed to the fact that relations towards the Diaspora should be changed since Serbia annually receives over $3 billion in foreign exchange from the Diaspora, which is more than the total value of Serbian exports.
The Ministry of Diaspora will soon launch an internet portal where it will present all information connected to possibilities of investing in Serbia, as well as other data of interest to Serbs abroad, she said.
Through the regional centre in Uzice the ministry will, owing to the informatics system of the Uzice Chamber of Commerce, receive all relevant information and provide them to the Diaspora.
The centre will also help in the following activities: encouraging investment by the Diaspora in concrete projects in the Uzice region and more information for the diaspora regarding the Serbian economic system.
Data bases on the Diaspora from this territory will also be created with the aim of more efficient communication and information exchange, help will be provided for overcoming administrative obstacles and conditions improved for investing at the local level through cooperation with the local self-government and offices for the Diaspora, where they are operational.
Presentations, theme seminars and round table discussions are also planned and representatives of all relevant state institutions should take part in them, and a list should be made of facilities (old houses, flour mills etc) on this territory which would be suitable for ethno tourism development and included in a project which the Ministry for Diaspora would carry out together with the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development.
