Milosavljevic, who began a two-day visit to Slovenia today, pointed to the fact that agriculture in the two countries is complementary and there is no competition between them, which provides great scope for further development of cooperation.
He stressed that Serbia highly values Slovenia’s achievements in joining the EU, and Slovenia’s experience will be useful to Serbia.
Recalling that Slovenia was once the biggest investor in Serbia, Minister Milosavljevic said that he expects significant Slovenian investments in Serbian agriculture, and the guarantee for that is the investments worth €70 million made thus far.
Milosavljevic emphasised that Slovenia is among the most important foreign trade partners of Serbia.
Jarc stressed that Slovenian agriculture and food companies are interested in investing in Serbia and agreed that there are many opportunities for cooperation between the two countries which should be used.
Milosavljevic and Jarc reached agreement that the chambers of commerce of the two countries should participate in the agriculture fairs which are held in Serbia and Slovenia.
They said that it is important to strengthen bilateral trade relations, and the possibility of Serbia hosting the ministerial conference during Slovenian EU Presidency was also discussed.
