The aim of the agreement signed in September last year in Banja Luka, is to further improve relations between Belgrade and Banja Luka.
The establishment of a council for cooperation was confirmed for the purpose of implementing this agreement. The council will consist of presidents and prime ministers of Serbia and Republika Srpska who will make recommendations to responsible organs.
Parliament also confirmed the European Charter of Local Self Government which was designed by the Council of Europe in Strasbourg in 1985.
The Convention on Police Cooperation in Southeastern Europe, which was signed in May 2006 in Vienna, aiming to establish the legal framework for cooperation on specific questions in the area of police jurisdiction in the countries of the region, was also ratified today.
Parliament confirmed the Protocol on amendments to the international convention on simplification and harmonisation of customs procedures, which was adopted in June 1999 in Brussels.
The Law on confirming the agreement on credit and financing between the German KfW Entwicklungsbank (KfW development bank) and Serbia for phase three of the rehabilitation of Serbia’s remote heating system was also adopted.
Parliament also brought decisions today regarding the cessation of duty of judiciary officials in Serbia, including Serbian State Prosecutor Slobodan Jankovic and Belgrade District Prosecutor Milovan Bozovic.
The first Serbian civil ombudsman Sasa Jankovic took his oath before parliament today, thereby officially assuming his office.
