Speaking at a press conference in the international press centre Tanjug, Ilic said that with the support of the Serbian government, during the previous three years Guca became an excellent tourist centre.
According to Ilic, a pool and sports facilities were constructed, and prior to the festival a heliport will also be put into operation.
He pointed out that a motel should also begin working soon, and added that an alternative road has also been constructed, which will allow to lessen the load of traffic at the time of the festival.
The water supply has been regulated, said the Minister, and stressed that Guca has become an important Serbian brand and that all conditions have been created so that tourism in that area thrives throughout the year and contributes to the development of the region.
Municipal Assembly President Lucani Slobodan Jolovic said that until now a sum of €15 million was invested in the construction of infrastructure, adding that this joint project with the Serbian government will continue, since the aim is to make the festival an international competition, where the top brass band of the world will be elected.
He stressed that three bridges were built as well as residential facilities, and with the construction of the heliport tourism will improve significantly since Dragacevo will get connected to Zlatibor and Kopaonik.
This year, besides electing the best band, there will also be a beauty pageant, where the winner will have the right to participate in the Miss Serbia beauty contest, and a concert by Goran Bregovic is also planned.
