Serbian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Slobodan Milosavljevic voiced hope today that export of Serbian food products to Great Britain could increase five times over in the next year.
In a telephone statement to Beta news agency from London where a delegation of the Ministry has been on a working visit since July 2, Milosavljevic said that during a meeting with Minister for Sustainable Food and Farming and Animal Health Jeff Rooker it was agreed that there is enough room for increasing the export of Serbian food to Great Britain.
Minister Rooker said that Great Britain is ready to offer expert help to fulfill standards and remove barriers for the offer of Serbian products on the British market.
Milosavljevic said that the most exported Serbian products are fruit and fruit and forest fruit products.
The Serbian delegation talked today with the management of the largest British trade chain Tesco about possibilities for their arrival on the Serbian market. Tesco's representatives showed readiness to organise presentation of Serbian food products this autumn, including the offer of fresh and frozen fruit and fruit products, as well as forest fruit and meat.
The Serbian delegation's visit to the British Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs ends today.
