Serbian Minister of Economy and Regional Development Mladjan Dinkic has laid a cornerstone for a new textile plant in Vranje Zamber that should become operational in February 2008 and employ 3,000 workers.

Dinkic said that this investment is valuable for Serbia and especially for the Serbian south and is best recommendation for foreign investors.
The Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA) helped in realisation of this project by granting non-repayable funds of €6 million from the National Investment Plan to company Alena.
The 10,500 sqaure metre plant will have the capacity of 100,000 ready-made articles of clothing per week.
The ceremony of laying the cornerstone was also attended by Minister without Portfolio in charge of Coordinating the National Investment Plan Dragan Djilas and Vranje municipality president Miroljub Stojcic.
