Serbian Minister of Foreign affairs Vuk Jeremic and Secretary General of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Marc Perrin de Brichambaut agreed today in Vienna that OSCE must remain in Kosovo-Metohija.
Jeremic,
who is on a working visit to Vienna, gave a statement to the Tanjug news agency and said that they discussed the work of the OSCE in the Serbian province and agreed that standards in the province are far from being fulfilled, therefore the OSCE must do all it can to help achieve this goal.
Jeremic said the meeting was very useful and added he is pleased with the work of the OSCE in Belgrade and the plan the OSCE has for 2008.
The meeting also discussed the role of OSCE not only in Serbia but in the whole region, Jeremic said noting that he and Brichambaut agreed to continue joint work on return of refugees to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia and Serbia.
Serbia is the country with the largest number of refugees in the region and we closely cooperate with OSCE on this affair, said Jeremic noting that OSCE’s role is also important when the rule of law, drafting new regulations and implementation of democratic values are concerned.
