Jeremic will begin his visit with a meeting with OSCE Secretary General Marc Perrin de Brichambaut, after which he will meet with Austrian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ursula Plasnik, at whose invitation he is coming to Vienna. He will then hold a meeting with Austrian President Heinz Fischer and Speaker of the Austrian National Council Barbara Prammer.
In a statement to the Tanjug news agency, Jeremic said that the aim of his visits to Bratislava, Vienna and Berlin is to garner as much support as possible for Serbia’s stance that new talks on Kosovo-Metohija are needed.
I believe it is essential that we now bring round to our way of thinking as many EU countries as we can so that their votes could strengthen our stance on the necessity of new negotiations, which has already been backed up by Russia, said Jeremic.
At the end of the visit, Serbian Ambassador to Vienna Dragan Velikic will hold a reception on occasion of the Minister’s visit to Austria.
The foreign minister, who
visited Bratislava yesterday, will visit Berlin tomorrow where he will talk with his German counterpart Frank Walter-Steinmeier.
