In an appearance on the TV Pink, Jeremic said that due to that an alternative is being talked about more audibly, and added that Kosovo-Metohija is one of the three most important security questions in the trans-Atlantic pact.
According to Jeremic, a big number of countries still support Ahtisaari’s plan, but it is not the only option any more and it is becoming clear that bringing a decision regarding the future status of the province will not be that easy.
Jeremic stressed that Serbia is ready for new negotiations, and there is only one red-line issue in those negotiations, and that is the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia which cannot be brought into question.
We are ready to consider all kinds of substantial autonomy, any form of autonomy according to which the Kosovo Albanians could regulate their lives, but any thing that is closely connected with the question of the sovereignty of the state should be the prerogative of Belgrade, said the Minister.
At the moment the resolution supporting Ahtisaari’s plan cannot get support in the Security Council, said Jeremic and explained that there are only two directions now, one is an imposed solution without a Security Council resolution, and the other is looking for a solution which could get support in the Security Council.
