Danube Guard 2007 completed

The Danube Guard 2007 exercise, done at the tri-border point of Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria on the Danube was completed today with a video conference of commanders of the forces that took part in the exercise.
More than 1,600 members of military, police and civil security forces of Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria participated in the exercise which began on June 25.
The aim of the exercise was training the security forces to react in case of terrorist attacks, ecological accidents and natural disasters.
All three services of the Serbian Army - infantry, aviation and river fleet, members of the Serbian Ministry of Interior and civil security sector took part in the exercise.
Presidents of Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania Boris Tadic, Georgi Parvanov and Trian Basescu watched the principal part of the exercise from the Romanian ship "Mures".
