Jeremic told the Tanjug news agency after participating in a plenary discussion "Kosovo and future of the Balkans" held as part of this forum, that he requested from NATO Secretary-General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer and from all ministers of NATO member states he talked to that the absolute priority should be preservation of peace and order in Kosovo-Metohija, especially in this moment when Serbia is going through a very delicate political process.
The Minister said that during yesterday's ministerial forum and today's panel discussion he underlined that Serbia wants and is ready for new negotiations, but cannot give up its territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Jeremic said that there are only two ways to continue from the point we are at now - one is one-sidedness that will bring instability to Serbia, the rest of the region and other parts of the world, and the other is to continue with the dialogue, Jeremic explained.
He stressed that Serbia will make intensive efforts together with all countries in order to keep things under control, and added that our country will behave in a responsible manner and be a source of stability in the region, without any threats.
The Security Forum of EAPC, where the main subjects of discussion were Kosovo-Metohija, the situation in Afghanistan and global energy security, is being attended by representatives of all 49 member countries.
During the stay in Ohrid, the Serbian Foreign Minister will have bilateral meetings with Hungarian Foreign Minister Kinga Goncz, Croatian Foreign Minister Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, Czech Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg and Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mamedyarov.
