Milosavljevic expressed hope that the government through its excise and tax policy will stimulate the opening of new plants as renewable sources of energy can become Serbia's trump card.
Production of bio-diesel will reduce Serbia’s foreign trade deficit which is mainly due to large import of energy sources.
Minister of Environmental Protection Sasa Dragin said that the opening of bio-diesel plant will improve the environmental situation in Serbia and will show that Serbia is part of Europe.
Victoria Oil General Manager Nikola Vujacic said that Victoria Group invested €20 million in this plant and employed 200 workers.
According to him, the price of bio-diesel per litre will be RSD 63.8 whereas the plant's annual capacity is 100,000 tons.
