At the three-border point of Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria on the Danube River near Djerdap the central part of the joint military exercise "Danube Guard 2007” was completed today. The exercise was attended by presidents of the three countries Boris Tadic, Traian Basescu and Georgi Prvanov.

The aim of the exercise, carried out before the highest military and civil officials of the three states is aimed at strengthening regional security and joint training of the national systems for crisis management.
Members of security forces of the three states confronted an imaginary terrorist group named as the "Balkan wolves”.
The “Danube Guard 2007” exercise that is being held from June 25 to 29 includes more than 1,600 members of the army, police and civil services of the three states, of which 360 are from Bulgaria, 700 from Romania and 550 from Serbia.

Memorandum on participation in the exercise was signed on June 14 at NATO headquarters in Brussels by ministers of defence of Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria Dragan Sutanovac, Teodor Viorel Melescanu and Veselin Bliznakov.

Tadic and Prvanov signed today the Agreement on opening two border crossings between Serbia and Bulgaria from Novo Korito-Salas and Petacinci-Bankja.
The Serbian President told a joint press conference he held with Prvanov that the Agreement has been signed despite many administrative difficulties and voiced satisfaction with the high level of cooperation between Serbia and Bulgaria.
He said that the two countries have many common plans in the field of energy and the economy.
