Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic said today that the Serbian government has set aside in this year's budget RSD 5.4 billion for Kosovo-Metohija, which shows that the state's policy towards its southern province is not only declarative.

Speaking at a session of Serbian parliament’s Committee for Kosovo, Djelic said that this year’s funds for the southern province are almost two times bigger than in 2006.
Out of the total sum, RSD 1.4 billion are intended for projects from the National Investment Plan in the territory of Kosovo.
Serbian Minister for Kosovo-Metohija Slobodan Samardzic said that Serbia will also finance its functions in Kosovo and invest there. He said that is very important because of the Serbs living in Kosovo and so that ethnic Albanians could see that the Serbia is very serious and that it invests in its people.
The Minister underlined that it is also very important that the international community sees that Serbia has serious intentions concerning the province’s financial recovery.
