Modern info desk opened at Serbian Statistics Office

Director of the Serbian Statistics Office Dragan Vukmirovic and Programme Manager of the European Agency for Reconstruction (EAR) Olivier Boonen today opened the new, modern information desk in the Statistics Office, which will allow all users to access data in a pleasant atmosphere.

Vukmirovic said on the occasion that data will be available to all citizens, and added that the aim is to explain data in a methodical way so that users are able to understand and use information properly.
He explained that visitors, upon entering the building of the office, should submit identification cards at the reception and then experts of the Statistics Office will help them to find the statistical information they require.
According to Vukmirovic, the EAR financed the designing and construction of the info desk, and the statistical offices of Italy, Hungary and Sweden also helped in this project.
Boonen said that during the previous few years the EAR provided some €5 million for modernising and improving the work of the Serbian Statistical Office.
