Members of the Serbian, Romanian and Bulgarian armies began today a military exercise titled “Danubian Guard 07” by sharing video messages among commanders of the exercise held in the border zone of the three Danubian countries.
The exercise will last until June 29 and its aim is joint training of national crisis management systems. Over 1,600 soldiers and civilians will take part in the exercise.
Bulgaria will have 360, Romania 700 and Serbia 550 representatives including members of armed forces, police, foreign affairs and other state organs in charge of the safety.
On June 27 the central part of the exercise will be carried out in the area of the Srbovo village at which presidents of the three states will be present – Boris Tadic, Traian Basesku and Georgi Prvanov.

Memorandum on the exercise was signed on June 14 in NATO Headquarters in Brussels by defence ministers Dragan Sutanovac, Veselin Bliznakov and Teodor Viorel Melescanu.
