Speaking on the plateau in front of the Serbian parliament's main building, Samardzic-Markovic said that Serbian society has sent a clear message that the young will no longer be left to themselves and that the Serbian government tasked the Ministry of Youth and Sports to prepare a national strategy for the young.
We have a common goal and that is to create a society in which every individual, every nation and every culture will get stronger because we respect each other and our differences.
She also said that Serbia today promotes a modern European Serbia that should be built by the young and a society in which the young will have equal opportunities to realise their different potentials and in which everyone will be different, but equal.
Council of Europe Secretary-General Terry Davis, who attended the event, said that this campaign celebrates diversity and that everyone is equal, although different.
I congratulate Serbia for organising this campaign since it has many citizens with different origin, especially in Belgrade, he said.
Serbian parliament Speaker Oliver Dulic said that in Serbia there are many differences that should be taken as a quality, and not as a defect. He also said that it is very important that visitors from other countries see Serbia as part of the European space and part of future Europe that will do everything to become a full EU member state.
