Introduction of modern standards to Serbian Army

Serbian Minister of Defence Dragan Sutanovac congratulated today to young soldiers for taking military oaths in Pancevo and voiced hope that they will do credit to the Serbian Army.

The Minister announced a lot of activities on increasing the living standards and explained that the budgetary funds for the needs of the defence system are lower because of the payment of military salaries and pensions.
He said that 2.4% of GDP is earmarked for the Ministry of Defence from the budget, but that due to expenditures for pensions and salaries the Ministry will get 1.6% of GDP.
Sutanovac said that the Ministry will do everything to secure 2% of GDP for the defence system next year, which is necessary in order to complete the planned organisational changes and reach standards that are aspired.
