Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia Hans Ola Urstad said that continuous training and education of police officers are inseparable from the process of building an effective and representative police service that will respond better to the community's changes and needs, Urstad said.
Urstad said that one of the priorities of the OSCE Mission to Serbia is giving support in the process of transformation of the secondary police school in Sremska Kamenica into the Centre for basic police training and the formation of a centre for specialist police training.
Head of the police administration in the Ministry of Interior Mladen Kuribaka said that owing to cooperation with the OSCE Mission, more than 300 police officers completed specialist courses successfully, which significantly developed the Ministry's capacities for the realisation of police training in line with European standards.
