Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica congratulated painter Vladimir Velickovic today on becoming a member of the French Academy of Fine Arts and expressed regret that he could not have been present at the ceremony in Paris.
“This is certainly one of the highest peaks of your singularly successful artistic career during which you have left a deep trace in the development of our modern art, as well as carried the name of your home country world wide.
Your creative and pedagogical achievements make us all very proud, and to be elected to join the French Academy is only a formal recognition that you belong among the top artists of today”, reads the Prime Minister’s greeting.
