Serbia remains committed to reforms, European path

Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, held a video meeting today with Director-General of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations Gert Jan Koopman, with whom he discussed Serbia’s results on the path to full membership in the European Union.

Macut said that during the meeting, the results achieved in the implementation of the Reform Agenda were reviewed and the next steps in the process of its implementation were defined.

He assessed that the progress achieved since Koopman’s recent visit to Serbia was discussed in an open and constructive manner, as well as the activities that need to be implemented in the coming period in order to activate funds from the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.

The Prime Minister emphasised that Serbia remains committed to reforms that contribute to strengthening institutions, improving the rule of law and the country’s further economic development.

I believe that by working together we will continue to achieve results that are in the interest of the citizens of Serbia, the Prime Minister noted.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of European Integration, the Ministry of Mining and Energy and the General Secretariat of the Government of Serbia.
