The interlocutors assessed that there is significant potential for connecting institutions, companies and experts from Serbia and Egypt, as well as for the implementation of joint projects that would contribute to the further strengthening of bilateral relations.
Macut emphasised that Serbia is committed to deepening cooperation with Egypt and creating new opportunities for economic, scientific and educational exchange between the two friendly countries.
The Prime Minister also spoke with Chairman of the Unified Procurement Authority of the Arab Republic of Egypt Hisham Stait.
During the meeting, particular attention was devoted to intensifying cooperation in the fields of healthcare, infrastructure and construction, with both sides assessing that there is significant space for further linking institutions and implementing joint projects.
The possibility of forming a mixed commission that would be responsible for improving and monitoring the implementation of agreed activities was also considered, with the aim of strengthening overall economic and institutional cooperation between Serbia and Egypt.
During talks with the Director General of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), Dr. Jean Kaseya, current challenges in the field of public health on the African continent and opportunities for improving international cooperation in the fight against infectious diseases were discussed.
Particular attention was paid to the issue of combating Ebola, a disease that continues to pose a serious health challenge in some parts of Africa and claims a large number of human lives.
Macut highlighted the importance of international cooperation, scientific exchange and joint action in the prevention and control of infectious diseases, emphasising that immunisation is one of the key solutions in the fight against Ebola.
The interlocutors assessed that there is significant room for strengthening cooperation between Serbia and African healthcare institutions, especially in the areas of research, education of professional staff and development of public health policies.
