Speaking at a panel discussion "The young and employment", held at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, Dinkic said that the rate of unemployment is 21.7%, while in case of the young it is 47%. That problem can be solved only if we improve education, he explained.
There is also a problem of re-qualification and additional training because those who already have degrees have to take intensive courses in order to adjust to the demand.
He said that €30 million will be invested this year in the programme of loans for beginners without the need for a mortgage, which will begin in September.
The Minister said that those who already worked in a state or private company and have entrepreneurial spirit will be eligible for the so-called start-up loans for beginners.
He said that those loans will be from €15,000 to €30,000 per loan.
The minister also said that the National Employment Service will pay special attention to programmes for self-employment of the young and recalled that last year 200,000 youths were included in these programmes, but that is insufficient when the number of jobless is taken into account.
