Amendments to the Law on free access to information of public importance envisages that from now on the commissioner for information of public importance will be chosen by a majority of the total number of parliament members, and not by simple majority.
The commissioner for information of public importance was given the right to start proceedings for evaluation of constitutionality and legality of laws and other legal acts.
The commissioner is appointed for seven years, but if parliament chooses the same commissioner again, his mandate will be calculated from the date he was chosen the first time.
Parliament members adopted the amendments to the Law on state auditing institution, which create conditions for the appointment of a council as the supreme organ of the institution.
The law preserves the high criteria for the selection of council members, which are university education and working experience of at least 10 years.
The state auditing company will be responsible for the control of all public finances and thus, of all direct and indirect budgetary users, political parties, public companies etc.
The changes and amendments to the Law on ombudsman envisage that the ombudsman and his deputy will be appointed and dismissed by majority vote of all parliament members.
Apart from the protection of human rights, the ombudsman will also be responsible for minority rights.
Serbian parliament also determined the composition of the nine permanent delegations in international parliamentary institutions.
Milos Aligrudic was appointed head of the delegation in the Council of Europe's Parliamentary Assembly (PA). This delegation shall consist of seven members and seven deputies.

Head of the delegation of NATO PA is Marko Djurisic, the delegation of the Assembly of the Western European Union will be led by Zoran Sami, and the delegation of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation of PA by Aleksandar Vlahovic.
The delegation for the InterParliamentary Union will be led by Oliver Dulic, the delegation of the Central European Initiative PA by Ivan Jovanovic, and the delegation of the Mediterranean PA by Bojana Aleksic.
