Serbian government experts will present the overall economic situation in Serbia, first of all macro economic trends and outlooks, situation on the labour market and in the employment sector and the wages policy.
Others topics will be fiscal reforms, public debt management, sustainability of the foreign and public debt, monetary and foreign currency policies, inflation trends and the balance of payments situation.
In the field of market economy, topics that will be discussed are free market competition, restructuring and privatisation of state-owned companies and the reforms of the system of regulated and controlled prices, development of the banking sector, loan and currency risks, insurance and leasing sectors, the capital market and pension funds.
On the second day of the meeting, participants will discuss the liberalisation of network industries (energy, telecommunications, transport), infrastructure development and implementation of the National Investment Plan.
Reform of state administration and finances will also be discussed, primarily regarding tax levying and management of public expenditures. Another discussion topic will be public finances strategy, public finances control and external auditing, public internal financial control and the state auditing institution.
The meeting will also concern the progress in the development of a national statistics system and cooperation with European Commission and other partners in this field.
The Serbian government delegation will include Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic, Minister of Finance Mirko Cvetkovic, Minister without Portfolio Dragan Djilas and Governor of the National Bank of Serbia Radovan Jelasic. The European Commission representatives will be Director of the Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs Antonio de Lecea and Head of the European Commission delegation to Belgrade Ambassador Josep Lloveras, adds the statement.
