The Serbian parliament’s Public Relations Department stated today that as a special guest a Serbian parliament delegation will participate in the first part of the 53rd sitting of the Western European Union (WEU) parliament, held this year under the theme “European Union and Security in Southeast Europe”.
The statement continues that the Serbian delegation will comprise parliament members Donka Banovic and Milos Jevetic and adds that a report has been prepared by WEU deputy parliament speaker and head of the German delegation Gerd Heffer, who stayed in Serbia on April 11 and 12 this year in order to prepare the report.
As part of the discussion themed “Stability and Safety in Europe”, parliament members will look at the public stance toward EU enlargement, parliamentary surveillance of external operations, the role of European troops in the NATO mission in Afghanistan, the two-year work of the European Defence Agency and other issues.
