Following the first working meeting, held at the Serbian parliament, Djelic and Dulic told the press that once it concludes the extraordinary session that began today, parliament will first discuss the Bill on parliament, and then before June 30 vote on the 2007 budget.
They also agreed that parliament fulfills its obligations stated in the Constitutional law and appoints judges of the Constitutional Court, governor of the National Bank of Serbia, ombudsman and organs of the state auditing institution and enable citizens to exert their right to be informed.
The Parliament Speaker and Deputy Prime Minister announced that at its next session the government will withdraw all the submitted bills from its procedure and task the ministers to review and adjust them and then forward them for discussion.
Dulic said he informed Djelic on the necessity of adopting the law on Serbian parliament which will define its position in society and its inner mechanisms, and enable an independent parliamentary budget.
Djelic said this budget will be envisaged in the Serbian budget for 2007 and added that thus parliamentary independence will be achieved and the division into legislative, executive and judicial authority enabled.
He voiced expectation that the lost time will be made up when it comes to the EU integration process, adding that the CEFTA and Kyoto agreements must be ratified.
