Kostunica congratulates Marija Serifovic on winning Eurovision

Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica congratulated Marija Serifovic on winning at the 52nd Eurovision song contest in Helsinki in which 42 countries took part.

„Well done Marija! The entire Serbia is proud of you and is celebrating thanks to your success“, reads the Prime Minister’s letter.
On final evening of the competition, Marija won a convincing total of 268 points and finished ahead of Ukraine with 235 points and Russia with 207 points.
Music for the winning song “Prayer” was composed by Vladimir Graic and the lyrics were written by Sasa Milosevic Mare.
On the stage Marija’s support was composed of five extraordinary background vocals – Suzana Dinic, Ana Milenkovic, Ivana Selakov, Sanja Bogosavljevic and Ksenija Milosevic.
By winning the song contest Serbia has gained the right to be the host of this global television spectacle next year.
