Vojislav Kostunica
Kostunica said that citizens of Serbia know that there are many, very important reasons for the formation of the government and that one of the most important reasons is that the country has to have a legitimate government when the decisive battle for Kosovo-Metohija is being fought in the UN Security Council.
If Ahtisaari thought that there will be no government at the moment when Kosovo's future is decided, and that Serbia will be in an election campaign, it can now be seen that he thought wrong, the Prime Minister said.
The highest state and national interests obliged us to form the government. According to the Serbian Constitution, Serbia's internationally recognised borders are absolutely unchangeable and Serbia cannot be even an inch smaller than it is today, Kostunica pointed out.
According to him, Serbia really wants sincere cooperation with all countries in the region, it sincerely wants to take part in European integration and development processes, but naturally it insists that all our partners respect the fact that Serbia as any other state has defined and inviolable borders.
Kostunica said that the formation of the government is a necessary condition for the country's further economic development and progress. The government enables efficient work of all institutions of the system, an increase in investments, creation of new jobs, reduction of unemployment and the creation of conditions for the Serbian youth to build their future in their own country, the Prime Minister concluded.
