The Italian Institute for International Trade (ICE), in cooperation with the Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA) and the US Agency for International Development (USAID), has organised two seminars to present opportunities for cooperation between Italian and Serbian companies. Three studies of 90 Serbian companies in the fields of wood processing, furniture production, textiles, and footwear will also be presented at the seminar.
The seminars, to be held in Treviso on June 28 and in Naples on June 29, will also see presentations of activities that ICE is carrying out in Serbia under a programme for the “reconstruction, stabilisation, and development of the Balkans,” the Serbian Ministry of International Economic Relations said in a statement yesterday.
Thanks to financial assistance by the USAID, bilateral meetings between eight Serbian companies and Italian partners will be held following the seminar. Also, ICE offices will distribute the studies of Serbian firms throughout Italy by in order to inform as many potential investors as possible about opportunities to do business with Serbian companies.
The studies represent the first step towards further initiatives to boost foreign direct investment in Serbia’s agriculture, IT, telecommunications, and electronic sectors, along with the three abovementioned industries.
One of the members of the Serbian delegation will be Assistant Minister of International Economic Relations Velimir Gavrilovic, reads the statement.
