Director of the Serbian government's Office of Media Relations Srdjan Djuric said today that the government called on workers of Zastava weapons plant from Kragujevac to halt the protest and go back to work.
Djuric told the Beta news agency that the government called on weapon makers to halt the protest because it harms themselves the most and that it is wrong to believe that protests are the right way for solving problems just because elections are to take place.
He said that the government is ready to work together with weapon makers on making new projects and finding new markets for their products once the protest is stopped.
