Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić met in Panama City, as part of his participation in the 56th General Assembly of the Organization of American States, with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay Mario Lubetikin.
On that occasion, it was assessed that there is significant room for further improvement of relations between Serbia and Uruguay on a bilateral and multilateral level, with a shared commitment to dialogue, stability and respect for international law.
Đurić presented the potential of Specialised Expo 2027 in Belgrade, as an opportunity to further connect Serbia with Uruguay and partners from Latin America in the areas of innovation, tourism, cultural exchange and development initiatives.
He expressed gratitude to Uruguay for its principled position regarding non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo, emphasising that Serbia highly values consistent respect for the United Nations Charter, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
