Karanovic said that owing to this scanner patients will not have to go to other clinical centres, but will be examined at the Uzice health centre which covers a very large area.
Karanovic voiced hope that the arrival of modern technology will be followed by advanced training of doctors and said that in the past few years the Ministry of Health has done a lot on the improvement of medical staff, through various seminars and trainings.
Also, she recalled that the Ministry launched the project "Urgent reconstruction of 20 hospitals in Serbia", in which the hospital in Uzice was given a significant place. She added that this project was financed by a €50 million loan from the Serbian government.
The State Secretary specified that €3.2 million has been invested into reconstruction of pulmonary and internal medicine wards, purchase of a cardiology ultrasound device and construction of two new buildings, laundry and boiler rooms, and renovation of the kitchen.
Karanovic announced that a new generation digital X-ray machine will be put into operation at the Uzice health centre in one month.
